Our first community Sound meditation after Summer break. Welcome back and I look forward to sharing sound with you once again!

This session will connect us to the supportive energy of the Earth element as we slowly begin to transition from Summer towards Autumn. This period of time following the warmth and heat of summer preceding the coolness of the autumn always brings to me a second “new year”. In tandem with the academic year, this part of the late Summer season is, for me, a natural opportunity to reset and restart - some planned changes.

However, change can occur at any time, it might be planned or unexpected. Sometimes, change can be simple and straightforward. Other times change might bring challenge and uncertainty. Change is inevitable - as life evolves, shift and change happens. How might we respond to change with wisdom and empathy for ourselves and each other?.

Earth has the ability to balance and hold centre. Earth rotates on its axis each day and orbits around the sun each year. This transitional smoothness can be a potential guide for helping us to meet shift and change with steadiness and ease.

The singing bowls and the gongs will meet you with the intention to soothe, calm, nourish and restore your whole being so to help cultivate the capacity to meet change with wisdom and ease.

Sound meditations are open to everyone. All you need to do is relax and be open to receive. Let go of all expectation and take on shoshin, the beginners mind.

Our session is a soundscape where I will immerse you in beautiful instrumental sounds which can bring a nurturing energy to our whole being. These Sound meditations are a great way to unplug from the fast activities and stresses that can often be the reality of life and open ourselves to a slower pace. Sound frequencies can help slow down the brainwaves by shifting from the more active (beta) state to a more relaxed (delta) or deep meditation or dreamlike (theta) state. When the mind is relaxed, the body softens and it is here that we can begin to experience subtle shifts in energy which may cultivate a pathway on a journey towards self healing.

I will begin the session with a guided meditation to relax the body calm the mind preparing you to receive the sounds and vibrations from instruments played.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat or other soft mat to lie on plus a pillow, blanket and eye mask ( or scarf to cover the eyes ). You may also choose to bring a soft reclining chair if you prefer. Come with an open mind and open heart to receive the sounds of the Ocean drum, Tibetan singing bowls, quartz crystal bowls, gongs and chimes.

Please note that these sessions are not suitable if you are in your first trimester of pregnancy or suffer epilepsy, clinical mental health conditions or have implants / metal plates in the body which may be affected by the vibration of the sounds. Seek advice from your doctor first.
